Description
Invest in a catalog that has averaged over $9,000 per quarter since 2014, generating $38,047 in royalties in the last 12 months. This is the unique opportunity to be the first to collect public performance royalties from a film score in addition to earning royalties from production music with an established track record of use in television.
Up for auction is the songwriter's share of public performance royalties for over 1,000 songs including the film score for the 2016 movie Ratchet & Clank. Ratchet & Clank is an animated film based on the video game series of the same name. The cast includes notable names such as John Goodman, Sylvester Stallone, and Rosario Dawson. This movie hit theaters in 2016 and was just released to Netflix on January 9th of this year. This is important because the winner of this auction will collect the first public performance royalties from these songs! Every time someone streams this movie on Netflix, you will earn money. You can hear the music from the film in the 'Media' tab.
Not only do you have the potential upside of the included film score, but the production music included in this catalog has a track record of success. It has been used in over 1,500 television shows, including the Emmy nominated game show The Chase and the History channel's American Pickers. Both of these shows are scheduled to air several times this week - so if any of the episodes that air use a song from this catalog, you will earn money! Also, over half of the tracks in the catalog are licensed by Jingle Punks, a publisher who has incentive to find new placements for the music in upcoming television programming. If you win this auction you will benefit from their work...because if they find additional placements for this music, you will earn additional royalties.
What is being sold?
100% of the seller's interest the songwriter's share of public performance royalties attributable to selected musical works in the seller's ASCAP catalog. See the “Financials” tab for a full track list.
How does this asset make money?
If a network airs a TV show or a film that uses any of the songs in this catalog, or if that TV show or film is streamed online, a public performance royalty is generated. Also, any time a song in this catalog is played on the radio, Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify, or in any other type of public performance, you earn royalties. ASCAP will distribute the royalties to the winner of this auction on a quarterly basis, beginning in April 2017.
