Invest in a catalog with earnings generated from sales and streaming of Outline In Color's albums and singles. Over the last 12 months, this asset has produced $5,064 in royalties.
Formed in 2010, Outline In Color is a 5-piece post-hardcore band that mixes elements of metalcore and electronics, to produce a unique sound. This catalog contains the band's first two independent albums — 2010's self-titled debut album Outline In Color, and its followup Jury of Wolves in 2012 — as well as associated single releases.
This catalog earns almost entirely from digital downloads... a whopping 80% of historic income. iTunes delivers the vast majority of these digital sales royalties. On the streaming front, Spotify is seeing a positive growth rate over the last 12 months, with earnings up 7%.
The album July of Wolves is this asset's largest income source, accounting for 39% of royalties. Released late in 2012, you'll notice a spike in earnings in January of 2013 as a result. Jury of Wolves was the band's last independent album. Their upcoming album is set to debut in spring of 2018, which will be their first independant release since Jury of Wolves. Arguably, Outline In Color's biggest hit is “No Bleeding On The Carpet.” This title is the highest-grossing single in the catalog, bringing in 8% of earnings and over 500,000 spins on Spotify.
Coming off a recent overseas tour, Outline In Color is currently working on a new album which is scheduled to drop in spring of 2018. The band is also planning another tour in Japan as well as the U.S. to promote the new album.
For a band, a new album and a tour can help reinvigorate their back catalog. The release of new music draws interest from first-time listeners and also reengages existing fans. This trend can be seen in the chart below with the release of Outline In Color's album Struggle in March 2016. You'll see the increased engagement from listeners/followers and rising streams after the album's release.
Note: Artist data provided by Spotify.
Looking at Outline In Color's Spotify data, the band's listeners, streams and followers all have steadily increased since 2015. For reference, Spotify classifies “Listeners” as the number of unique persons listening to music, which can indicate a measure of the artist's popularity. “Streams” is the number of times the song is played for at least 30 seconds. “Followers”are listeners who follow the band/artist on Spotify and receive updates/release news on the artist.
