Description
This is a unique opportunity to earn royalties for newly released tracks from hip-hop artists. Featured in the catalog are four songs that were released in 2017. As the winning bidder, you will collect all future royalties earned for these songs’ performances, including radio play!
Included in this collection are three brand new releases from hip-hop artist Blackbear’s recent album Digital Druglord. While several songs from this album contribute to the majority of this collection’s earnings, the track “I Miss The Old U” contributes the majority at 72% in the last 12 months. Both “Double” and “Moodz” from the same album round out the majority of earnings.
Streaming is driving all earnings, with Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music contributing to the majority. Historically, streaming income collected over $12,000 in revenue.
Key Drivers
Hip-Hop/Streaming. This catalog is a perfect example of two trends: hip-hop and streaming's growth worldwide. According to BuzzAngle's 2018 Year End Report, hip-hop is the most popular genre of music in the U.S. The driver for the increase is streaming. Hip-hop/rap tracks accounted for more than a quarter of all on-demand plays on music streaming services in the US in 2018 Streaming accounts for 87% of this catalog’s all-time earnings.
New Release. Blackbear just recently released a new hit single, “the 1” produced by FRND in August of 2018. While the new song is not included in this auction, new releases can help boost an artist's back catalog. The release of new music draws discovery among first-time listeners and re-engages existing fans.
