Description

Bid now and collect from a star-studded catalog highlighted by internationally recognized hip-hop artists Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, G-Eazy and more.

Featuring the 5X Platinum hip-hop hit “No Limit” and it’s remix, this catalog boasts massive global reach charting in over a dozen countries worldwide. Reaching number four on the US Billboard Hot 100, “No Limit” ranks as G-Eazy and ASAP Rocky's highest-charting song to date, and Cardi B's second top-five single.

In line with the expected trend of a popular hip-hop track, the majority of historic earnings for this catalog come from radio sources at 47% of earnings in the last two years. In the last year, earnings have begun to diversify to favor both streaming and international revenue.

This catalog also includes the remix to “No Limit” featuring French Montana, Belly and Juicy J and “Pull Up N Wreck” from Big Sean and 21 Savage – collectively the works contribute to 7% of earnings in the last year.

Key Drivers

Radio. Radio is the largest source of revenue for this catalog, accounting for 47% of historic royalties. Although radio royalties are still being generated, they could eventually level off. Typically, songs that experience significant radio play can often build a foundation for other types of income. As we're seeing the radio royalties begin to slow down, other income sources, streaming and international in this case, begin to increase.

Streaming & Hip-Hop. This catalog is a perfect example of two trends: hip-hop and streaming's growth worldwide. According to BuzzAngle's 2018 Year-End Report, hip-hop is the most popular genre of music in the U.S. The driver for the increase is streaming. Hip-hop/rap tracks accounted for more than a quarter of all on-demand plays on music streaming services in the US in 2018. Streaming accounts for 33% of this catalog’s earnings over the last 12 months.

Cardi B. To say Cardi B is an enormously popular artist is an understatement. She's a trailblazer for female hip-hop artists with a global following. In a short time, Cardi B has earned three No.1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and seven top 10 hits.

At one point in 2018, Cardi B had five Top 10 singles on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop at the same time, making her the first woman to do so, beating Beyoncé’s previous record of four. Cardi’s album Invasion Of Privacy (which features “Moneybag”) was the first debut album by a female rapper to receive an Album of the Year Grammy in nearly 20 years. Invasion Of Privacy also claimed the No. 1 slot on both Rolling Stone and Time’s "Best Albums of 2018.”

She has received an additional six Grammy Award nominations, three American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, nine BET Hip Hop Awards, and a Billboard Music Award.

New Release. Cardi B just released a new track titled “Press” in May 2019, and it has already received more than 82 million views on YouTube collectively. While the new song is not included in this auction, new releases can help boost an artist's back catalog. The release of new music draws discovery among first-time listeners and re-engages existing fans.
