Description

Collect public performance royalties generated by catalog containing pop, country, rock and Christian music. Historically, the highest-earning title is “Wrecking Ball (Press On)” from the Christian rock band Building 429. Released in 2014, the single was off Building 429’s Grammy-nominated album We Won’t be Shaken. This catalog includes eight additional tracks from Building 429.

Also featured in this offering are three tracks from EDM rock band Starset. In the last 12 months, Starset's “Carnivore” was the catalog's highest-earning song with 23% of royalties. Representing country music in this collection is the 2017 release “Lonely Call” from RaeLynn. The song charted at No. 50 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.

Not to be forgotten are “You Don’t Know My Heart” from pop singer Rachel Platten, “Be Your Everything” from Boston rock band Boys Like Girls, along with titles from Christian rock group Anthem Lights and pop country duo Megan and Liz.

Key Drivers

Diversity in Song Age. This catalog contains music with release dates spanning ten years. This provides a diverse income mix between new(er) releases and more mature works. Industry wide, “Catalog Songs” (music released more than 18 months ago) and “Deep Catalog” (music released more than 3 years ago) together represent over 60% of music streamed today.

Looking at the highest-earning tracks in the last year, “Carnivore” was released in 2014 — followed closely by “Halo,” also released in 2014. “Lonely Call” was released in 2017 and those royalties are just beginning to come in. This diversity can help sustain a catalog's streaming earnings moving forward.

What is being sold?

Ten years of payments derived from 100% of the seller's interest in the songwriter's share of public performance royalties attributable to select musical works in the seller's catalog of songs administered by ASCAP. See the “Overview” box above for a full track list.

how does this asset make money?

Every time “Wrecking Ball” or any song in this catalog, is played on the radio,  Sirius XM, Spotify or any other type of public performance, you earn royalties.

ASCAP makes payments quarterly and the first distribution you will receive is set for July 2018. Royalty Exchange will collect the payments from ASCAP and disburse to you in August 2018.

Unless the buyer opts out of the opportunity, this listing will automatically be relisted as a "Buy It Now" sale at a premium over the closing price. The relisted asset will remain live until it is purchased, or until its first royalty distribution. This gives the winning bidder the chance to earn an immediate return on the asset while awaiting the first royalty payment.
