What Rights Are Included?
This auction is for 80% of the royalty earnings from the seller’s public performance rights as the songwriter for this BMI catalog. “Public performance rights” are rights songwriters license to third parties to play their music in public. The seller is registered with BMI, who issues licenses on the seller’s behalf and collects and pays royalties to the seller. Any time these songs are streamed on the Internet, or appear in a television show or movie, the songwriter earns a royalty.
The seller will retain the ownership of his interest in the musical composition and sound recording copyrights.
