Up for auction are the songwriting royalties from a collection of contemporary Christian works dating back to the early 2000s. This collection boasts the work of GMA’s four-time awarded Female Vocalist of The Year, Natalie Grant. Grant has received seven Grammy nominations throughout her career.

This collection highlights some of Grant’s most popular works, including her 2008 release “I Will Not Be Moved.” From her sixth studio album Relentless, the album itself peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s US Christian Albums chart and received a nomination for the Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year at the 40th GMA Dove Awards. “I Will Not Be Moved” received a nomination for Pop/Contemporary Song of The Year. The track makes up 41% of earnings in the last 12 months.

Following closely behind in earnings, the 2005 release “I Believe” contributes to over 25% of earnings in the last 12 months. Featured as a hit single to Grant’s first contemporary Christmas album, Believe received a nomination for Inspirational Album of The Year at the 37th GMA Dove Awards.

The remainder of this collection is made up of dozens of additional Grant classics including “Real Me,” “Live To Today” and “Breathe On Me.”

Key Drivers

Radio. Radio is the largest source of revenue for this catalog, accounting for 52% of historic royalties. Although radio royalties are still being generated, they could eventually level off. Typically, songs that experience significant radio play can often build a foundation for other types of income.

Case in point: streaming. Historically, streaming brought in 11% of royalties. In the last 12 months, however, streaming accounted for 48% of royalties. Streaming royalties are also seeing a 7% increase over the last 12 months. So as we're seeing as the radio royalties begin to slow down, other income sources (streaming) begin to increase.

Streaming. The streaming industry is seeing growth in itself, in fact, according to the 2018 RIAA Mid-Year Report, streaming music accounts for 75% of the music industry's revenue. This collection offers investors the unique opportunity to invest in the overarching positive trend and impact of streaming services. Streaming accounts for 48% of income generated in the last 12 months.
