Up for bid is a catalog containing several EDM and Electropop hits, including international chart-topping tracks from German DJ ATB, Irish pop-folk group Sham Rock, and the virtual electropop band Studio Killers

This asset features public performance royalties generated in the U.K., distributed by the country’s PRO—PRS For Music. The “Financials” tab lists the organization’s unique payment schedule and slightly different terminology for royalty sources.

Domestic (U.K.) streaming royalties (noted as “Online” in the financial data) are this catalog’s top-earning source with 46% of last year’s returns.

A close second are international with 44% of returns. These earnings include radio, streaming, and TV/Film from outside the U.K. which grew 2% year-over-year

The top-earning track in this catalog is  “Xtasy” (“Ecstasy”)—a hit single from ATB’s 2004 album, No Silence— which contributed 36% of earnings over the last year with minimal decline year-over-year.

“Tell Me Ma,” by the pop-folk group Sham Rock, contributed 19% to last year’s earnings, and has had equally impressive long-term performance since its 1998 release. This pop version of the classic Irish children’s song “I’ll Tell Me Ma” peaked at No. 13 on the UK Singles Chart, and remained in the Top 100 for 13 weeks.

Rounding out the top-earning tracks for the catalog are three singles from the “virtual” band Studio Killers. The Studio Killers formed in 2011, with the identities of the band members hidden behind the four animated virtual characters.

Key among them is “Ode to the Bouncer,” first released as a single in April of 2011 as the lead track from the band’s self-titled debut studio album, later released in 2013. The track reached No.1 on several Dutch charts, and brought in 9% of catalog earnings over the last year.

Key Drivers

Dollar Age. This collection of songs has a Dollar Age of approximately 16.03 years. This means the majority of royalties earned in the last 12 months come from songs that have generated royalties for over sixteen years. A high Dollar Age like this suggests stability and longevity. This can help sustain a catalog's earnings moving forward.

Diversity in Song Income Mix. The single highest-earning song only accounts for 27% of historic income and 36% of the last 12 months’ earnings. This means the catalog’s earnings are not tied to the success of a single track and provides built-in diversification.

International Earnings. A large portion of this catalog’s earnings come from abroad — with 49% of historical earnings. As the winner of this auction, you’ll be entitled to any past performance royalties paid by PRS, regardless of when they were earned. As this collection earns primarily from countries outside the United Kingdom, it’s important to note that international earnings can often be reported to distributors with limited detail. These international earnings often include income from radio, streaming platforms, and TV/Film.
