Collect growing royalties from a catalog of hip-hop music whose payments have increased each of the last four distribution periods. This catalog, which includes songs by Kevin Gates, TK N Cash and an August Alsina collaboration with Lil' Wayne, earned $16,265 in royalties in the last 12 months. The most recent quarter saw a large portion of royalties from domestic radio for the song “3x In A Row” by TK N Cash, but even excluding radio royalties the last quarter saw a 42% increase in royalties over the previous quarter.
Highlights from this catalog are songs by hip-hop artist Kevin Gates, who came into the spotlight this year with the release of his album, Islah, in January 2016. The album reached #2 on the Billboard 200 in February, beating out Adele's 25. The only artists to out-sell Adele in any one week during that period? David Bowie, Panic! At The Disco, Rihanna, The 1975 and, yes, Kevin Gates. The album reached Platinum status in August 2016.
Included in this catalog is “Not the Only One” from the Islah album, which currently has over 14.5 million plays on Spotify, as well as songs from Gates' previous albums which have seen an increase in royalties since Islah's release. Since the next BMI payment will cover performances from April through June of this year, the winner of this auction will ride Gates' newfound popularity and collect increasing royalties for “Not the Only One,” as well as any other song in this catalog.
What is being sold?
