Up for auction is 100% of the seller's songwriter royalties from music by popular hip-hop artists including Rick Ross, Kevin Gates, and more. The majority of the songs in this catalog were released in the last four years. In the last 12 months, these songs generated $9,683 in royalties.

This catalog is highlighted by the song “Sorry” by Rick Ross featuring Chris Brown.  The song was released in October 2015 as the first single from the album Black Market. “Sorry” hit number 19 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts when released and radio airplay for this song makes up 71% of this catalog's royalties in Q4 2015. Today “Sorry” has over 23 million streams on Spotify and more than 13 million YouTube views.

Also included in this catalog are songs by Kevin Gates, a hip-hop artist who came into the spotlight in the past year with the release of his album Islah. Included in this catalog are “Thugged Out” and “Don't Panic” off of his 2014 commercial mixtape Luca Brasi 2. Gates was recently recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America for having the only debut album to reach platinum status in 2016.

What is being sold?

100% of the seller's interest in the songwriter's share of public performance royalties attributable to selected musical works in the seller's BMI catalog. See the “Financials” tab for a full track list.

How does this asset make money?

Every time “Sorry,” or any song in this catalog, is played on iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, or any other type of public performance, you earn royalties. BMI makes payments quarterly and the next BMI distribution is March 2017.

The seller has the option to repurchase the royalty share from the winning bidder, for two years after the sale, for 150% of the final auction price.
