Description

This auction features a collection of international pop tracks from Australian pop stars Sheppard and Betty Who. In the last 12 months alone this catalog has earned over $8k in royalties, 84% of which came from international sources.

This collection features multiple hit tracks from the Australian indie-pop band Sheppard including Australian certified Gold track “Keep Me Crazy” and “Edge of The Night.” Contributing to 39% and 35% of last 12 months earnings respectively, the two, newly released works appear on Sheppards’ 2018 album Watching The Sky. The album itself received instant recognition in Australia, appearing at No. 1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart.

Also included in this listing is Australian singer-songwriter Betty Who’s single “Human Touch” from her international hit album The Valley. “Human Touch” contributes to over a quarter of this collection’s earnings. It’s worth noting, Betty Who’s album The Valley appeared in the top 50 for Top Album Sales in 2017.

Key Drivers

International. The majority of this catalog’s earnings come from abroad — at 76% of historical earnings. Although international royalty distribution can lag behind domestic payments and arrive with limited detail, as the winner of this auction you’ll be entitled to any past performance royalties paid by ASCAP, regardless of when they were earned.

As this collection earns primarily from countries outside the United States, it’s important to note that international earnings can often be reported to distributors with limited detail. These international earnings often include income from radio, streaming platforms, and TV/Film.

Pop/Streaming. According to the BuzzAngle 2018 Music Report, pop titles were the second-most streamed songs last year, representing 19.3% of all streams, up from 15.6% in 2017. Streaming accounts for 10% of this pop catalog's earnings last year.
