Collect royalties from a Latin pop catalog featuring works from popular international artist Henry Santos. Santos is a Dominican American artist and former member of the bachata supergroup, Aventura. As a group, Aventura had 10 straight Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs singles chart. After nine albums, the group split in 2011, and Santos began his solo career. Two songs from his third studio album Henry The Third (Deluxe) are featured in this catalog. Over the past 12 months, this asset has produced $3,849.
Santos' “Y Eres Tan Bella” accounts for 76% of the catalog's total earnings. Released in 2015, “Y Eres Tan Bella” produced solid radio royalties during the final quarter of 2015 and first quarter of 2016. The song also reached No. 23 on the Billboard Tropical Songs charts. Although radio royalties tend to level off after the initial spike following release, digital earnings can provide a nice offset. “Y Eres Tan Bella” currently ranks in Santos' top five played songs on Spotify, with over 1.5 million streams.
“Quedate” further contributes to the royalty stream, also from Henry The Third (Deluxe). With just three quarters of earnings to date, over 50% of the song's income comes from terrestrial radio. Officially released in September 2016, the song peaked at No. 22 Billboard Tropical Songs charts.
Both “Y Eres Tan Bella” and “Quedate” were re-released on Santos' live album, The Live Album Sólo Éxitos in February 2017. This provides yet another avenue for new fans to hear the songs and expand his current fan base.
Other titles to take note of are “Princesita” performed by Karlos Rose, a young rising bachata artist with Universal Latin. As well as, “Déjenme Solo” featuring Luis Vargas, one of the Dominican Republic's most popular bachata musicians.
Radio is a powerful launchpad for new music. Songs with airplay often build a foundation of streaming and other types of income once the radio activity winds down. With this catalog in particular, it's important to note that 66% of the royalty stream has come from radio.
Furthermore, a 2016 Nielsen report notes that Hispanic American adults are avid radio listeners, with 97% listening to the radio each week. And since 2011, the weekly national Hispanic radio audience has grown 11% (from 36.5 million to 40.4 million). Since the catalog consists predominantly of Spanish language songs that enjoy significant radio presence, this makes for a larger potential audience.
