Invest in the publisher's share of public performance royalties for music used in the hidden-camera reality TV series Cheaters. Along with a nine-year earning history, this collection of songs has produced $40,439 in royalties in the last 12 months.

Up for auction is 50% of the publishing royalties for this catalog, which features both the theme as well as background music that's used in every episode of the Cheaters franchise. Each episode follows the same format, and therefore uses the music from this catalog repeatedly and consistently.

The weekly syndicated Cheaters began airing in 2000 and has taped 15 seasons to-date and is currently hosted by Clark Gable. As the winner of the auction, you will collect royalties every time Cheaters airs on TV.

The program currently airs on VH1, as well as other broadcast syndicate stations. If you're at all familiar with the show, you will recognize the music from this collection. Click on the “Media” tab to listen.

Key Drivers

This auction is for 50% of the publisher's share of public performance royalties of the catalog. The seller is retaining a 50% share. This means whenever music from this catalog is used in an episode of Cheaters that airs, both you and the seller will earn a royalty.

The music in this collection is not only played at the outset of any given episode of Cheaters, but it's also featured throughout the episode. This asset differs from a typical production music catalog because the music is used frequently throughout the episode and series. You'll earn multiple royalties per show airing. What is being sold?

50% of the seller's interest in the publisher's share of public performance royalties attributable to the seller's catalog of musical works. See the “Financials” tab for a full track list.

How does this asset make money?

Every time a network airs a television show that uses any of the songs in this catalog, a public performance royalty is generated. This means every time an episode of Cheaters uses a song from this catalog and airs on TV, you will earn money. ASCAP makes payments quarterly and the first distribution you will receive is November 2017.

As a part of the sale, the seller will collect ASCAP’s domestic royalty distribution on September 22, 2017. The winner of this auction will collect royalties beginning with the international distribution on November 13, 2017.

Note: Airings of Cheaters episodes drive the royalty earnings for this catalog. If Cheaters goes off the air, performance royalties could significantly decrease.
