Description

Here is your chance to collect from hundreds of placements across a wide variety of popular film and TV, ranging from feature films, reality TV programs, network cable series hits, and premium cable programs.

This catalog is different from a traditional production music asset, as many of these songs are highlighted prominently within the programming. As a result, these tracks receive more lucrative payouts for their “featured” and lengthier presence.

Revenues are also widely distributed within this collection, with 43 songs accounting for 75% of earnings in the last year. In fact, the single highest-earning song “Party In My Pants”— from the 2016 comedy Neighbors 2 — only accounts for 8% of revenue in the last 12 months. This means the catalog’s earnings are not tied to the success of a single track in a single TV series/film and provides built-in diversification.

This catalog contains songs used in episodes/films dating back to 2015, but its songs have also been used in brand new releases. For example, the films Pitch Perfect 3 and Spider-Man Homecoming include songs from this collection. Both films were released in 2017 and are currently airing on the premium network HBO and Amazon Prime, respectively. This means the public performance royalties for TV are just beginning as the films make their way through the various levels of cable networks/on-demand streaming.

The top-earning placements over the last 12 months include teen musical Cinderella Story: If The Shoe Fits, the popular Fox series Empire, and the film Monster High: Boo York, Boo York. Interestingly, the latter two (Empire and Moster High: Boo York, Boo York) are enjoying an increase in royalties due to their availability on streaming platforms Hulu and Netflix.

Other placements include feature films Horrible Bosses 2, Leatherface, Pitch Perfect 2, Fifty Shades of Black and TV series such as Power, Two Broke Girls, Star, How To Get Away With Murder, Shameless, and dozens more.

Key Drivers

Music Library. Production music is a vital part of the TV & radio industry. In fact, the Production Music Association's Joe Saba called it a “$1 billion global industry hidden in plain sight.” Right now, demand for music in TV shows, films, and commercials is tremendous. To meet their needs for all these uses, brands and production houses often turn to production music libraries to find music more efficiently and cost-effectively than licensing commercial music.

Songs in this catalog were created especially for a reputable production music licensing house with impactful relationships across the film and TV industry. Whenever production groups are creating new content — a TV program, commercial or film — they look for music to production houses.

As the winner of this auction, you will benefit from these songs being part of a music library and receive royalties whenever the songs are used. If the music licensing house finds additional placements for the songs in this collection, you will earn royalties without having to do any of the work!
