This single-song auction features the Christian hit "You Are Loved," from Christian rock band Stars Go Dim.

The song is off the self-titled debut album Stars Go Dim, released in 2015. “You Are Loved” went on to become a big radio success, with the track topping the Billboard Christian Airplay chart at No. 1 and No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs. The song still earns primarily from radio with 48% of income in the last year. On the streaming front, the video has over 5 million views on YouTube, while “You Are Loved” has amassed over 7 million spins on Spotify — making it the band’s most popular song on the platform.

Following its release, “You Are Loved” was used in ADT Home Security’s “Home Safe” national commercial campaign in 2017. The commercial was featured on several prominent networks from ABC, AMC, CBS, CNN, NBC and more. In the last 12 months, TV/Film placements for “You Are Loved” account for 38% of income.

Key Drivers

Radio. Radio is the largest source of revenue for “You Are Loved,” accounting for 76% of historic royalties. Although radio royalties are still being generated (three years after its release!), they could eventually level off. Typically, songs that experience significant radio play can often build a foundation for other types of income. As the winner of this auction, you will be entitled to all future radio royalties for “You Are Loved” for the next 10 years.

TV/Film. “You Are Loved” benefited from use in the ADT Home Security's commercial campaign — contributing 38% of last year’s income. The commercial aired nationally on both network and cable TV. You can see a sample of the commercial on the “Media” tab. The commercial’s last airing was in December 2017, according to iSpot (an online database of nationally airing TV commercial data). It is important to keep in mind that the song’s royalties from those commercial airings will begin to decline and eventually disappear.

New Release & Tour. Stars Go Dim recently released a new EP Better in September 2018. While the new songs are not included in this auction, new releases can help boost an artist's back catalog. The release of new music draws discovery among first-time listeners and re-engages existing fans.

Additionally, Stars Go Dim is actively touring with dates through January 2019. Tours give artists the chance to solidify their current fan base and expand their reach to new listeners.
