Description

Invest in songwriter royalties from songs performed by popular, award-winning Christian artists. In the last 12 months, this catalog earned $10,763. And these royalties are growing... annual royalties have increased every year since 2013 -- and up 208% in 2016 over 2015. Only two quarters of payments have come out for 2017 and the earnings have already surpassed all of 2016.

Making up 44% of the earnings is the song “Forever” from Grammy-nominated, contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and worship leader Kari Jobe. “Forever” became a Christian music classic, released in 2014 on the live worship album Majestic. The album experienced crossover success, reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Album chart and No. 12 on the Billboard 200. The same year, Majestic received a Dove Award for Best Worship Album of the Year and “Forever” hit No. 1 on the Worship Leader's Top 20 Songs of 2014 list.

“Ever Be” from Bethel Music, an American worship group and music producer, contributes 43% of the income. “Ever Be” is from Bethel Music's tenth album, We Will Not Be Shaken, and features the vocals of Kalley Heiligenthal. The album was No. 3, on the Worship Leader's Top 20 Albums of 2015 list and "Ever Be" was No. 18 on the Worship Leader's Top 20 Songs of 2015 list.

Royalties from “Ever Be” increased significantly in the last four quarters over the previous four. One reason for this might stem from the fact that multiple Dove Award-winning artist Aaron Shust covered “Ever Be” last year. Shust also released a live album this March with a live version of “Ever Be” on it as well. And the winner will collect royalties from any of these versions.

Key Drivers

1) 68% of Americans listen to Christian or Gospel music. It commands 6.6% of overall U.S. music sales, more than jazz, blues, and classical combined.'

2) The two top-earning songs in this catalog have been performed and covered by multiple artists. Since this auction is for the songwriter's share, you will collect public performance royalties for any artist's version of these songs. In the future, if another artist covers one of these songs, you'll earn public performance royalties for that version as well.

What is being sold?

100% of the seller's interest in the songwriter's share of public performance royalties attributable to the seller's catalog of musical works. See the “Financials” tab for a full track list.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Possession of the songwriter’s portion of this asset must be taken via a trust, which is required due to ASCAP’s assignment policy. Please see the Post-Auction Process tab for further information.

How does this asset make money?

Every time “Forever,” or any song in this catalog, is played on the radio, streamed on Pandora, or any other type of public performance, you earn royalties. ASCAP makes payments quarterly and the first distribution you will receive is August 2017.
