Bid on music from an award-winning composer whose work is featured in several top Hollywood motion pictures and television series. You can hear this music in films like The Company You Keep, Drive, Arbitrage, Dark Places, and The Lincoln Lawyer and television shows such as Life Below Zero and The Knick. Up for auction is 20% of the songwriter share of public performance royalties from over 1,200 works. Royalties for this catalog have grown in each of the last three distributions. In the last 12 months, 20% of the royalties totaled $16,565.
Two sources of growth in the last 12 months come from music used in Life Below Zero and Drive. Royalties from Life Below Zero, a National Geographic Channel Documentary series, increased 333% in the last 12 months from the previous. This Emmy award-winning series starts its 9th season on Monday, April 24th, and the songwriter has written music exclusively for the upcoming season. This means if an episode of Life Below Zero airs with any of the music in this catalog, you will earn a public performance royalty.
As for film, music used in the action movie Drive, featuring Ryan Gosling, has also seen growth. Released in 2011, the film has won multiple prestigious awards, including Cannes Best Director Award, Critics Choice Movie Award for Best Action Movie, New York Film Critics Circle Award and more. The movie is still popular 6 years after it's release. Royalties from the music used in this film are still growing, increasing 13% in the last 12 months over the previous.
1) This auction is for 20% of the seller's interest in the public performance royalties. This means the seller retains an 80% share so they will continue to have a vested interest in the catalog. Not only that, but music in this catalog is actively being pitched by publishers and production agencies. When they find placements for these tracks in new shows, you'll earn new royalties.
2) This catalog includes music written for the Golden Globe Nominated film War Dogs. The movie was just released in August of 2016 and has yet to collect public performance royalties. War Dogs is currently airing on HBO and available to stream on iTunes, Amazon Video, GooglePlay, etc. So the winner of this auction will collect the first public performance royalties from this movie!
