Up for auction is other 50% of the writer's share of public performance royalties for theme music used in ABC's flagship news programs: Good Morning America, This Week, and America This Morning. Particularly exciting is that this catalog's earnings have grown 273% in the last four quarters over the four previous quarters. In the last 12 months, this collection of theme music produced $11,317 in royalites.

The recent growth rate can be attributed to the catalog's steadily increasing earnings over the course of 2016. The increase is attributable to the programs Good Morning America and This Week. Combined the two shows account for 89% of historic income. In fact, over the last four quarters, This Week shows the strongest growth rate of over 1000%.

Furthermore, as a program that airs five days/week and includes a weekend edition, it's no surprise that Good Morning America accounts for 63% of the historical earnings. According to the most recent morning show ratings, Good Morning America finished No. 1 in total viewership for the first week of September 2017.

Theme music is the audio played at the outset of any given show. It differs from typical production music, because a theme song plays consistently and more often than a background/transition music. There are many variations of the theme songs in this collection. For example, there are opening and closing tracks as well as varying lengths for one show. How does this asset make money?

Every time a network airs a television show that uses any of the songs in this catalog, a public performance royalty is generated. This means every time Good Morning America or any other show, uses a music from this catalog and airs on television, you will earn money. BMI makes payments quarterly and the first distribution you will receive is January 2018.
