Historic royalty income is no indication of future royalty income. Future royalty income is dependent upon future sales and licensing revenue generated by the sound recordings or compositions associated with this listing.

What rights are included?
Here’s an opportunity to acquire royalties from a stable, consistent catalog featuring multiple revenue streams.
Particularly noteworthy is that this offering has a Dollar Age of over nine years, meaning that the royalties earned in the last 12 months have earned royalties for an average of at least nine years. What’s more, 90% last year’s revenues came from streaming, which is also the most consistent source of income with the best year-over-year stability.
Up for bid are sound recording royalties featuring English hip-hop artist Tinie Tempah, including his No. 1, Platinum-selling, single “Written In The Stars.” As the winner of the auction, you will collect sales (downloads), streaming, and sync earnings for “Written In The Stars” along with other songs off Tinie Tempah’s 2010 album Disc-Overy.
Released as the third official single from Disc-Overy, “Written In The Stars” is this offering’s top-contributor. The track debuted at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also became Tinie Tempah’s first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40. Nearly 10 years after its release, royalties for “Written In The Stars” remain quite consistent.
The recording also has many licensed placements in various sports programming including Major League Baseball’s 2011 Postseason, WWE’s WrestleMania XXVI, Super Bowl XLVI, and the closing ceremony of the London Olympic Games. Any time the song is licensed in future TV/commercial programming, you’ll collect an upfront sync fee.
Other singles from Disc-Overy included are “Invincible" featuring Kelly Rowland, “Snap” and "Just a Little" featuring Range.
Sound Recordings: Sound recording royalties benefit from streaming disproportionately more than composition-based royalties. If Spotify pays 70-cents of every dollar on music rights, 60-cents of that goes to the sound recording copyright (which the label splits with the artist based on their contract agreement), while the remaining 10-cents goes to the composition copyright.
Sound recording rightsholders see significant benefits as a result. In the last year, the majority of royalties came from streaming services — 89%. This is good news for you as the investor, as it follows the industry macro trend of rising streaming royalties for sound recording copyright rightsholders.
Multiple Income Streams. The winner of this auction can receive royalties from various streams:
Sales: Royalties paid to artists and producers when a recording is sold, which can be downloaded (on a platform like iTunes), as well as physical copies being sold (such as a C.D.).
Streaming: Royalties paid to artists and producers when a recording is streamed “on-demand” (like Spotify for example) as well as non-interactive streaming (Pandora).
Synchronization: Royalties paid to artists and producers for the licensing of a recording in music for a movie, TV show, or commercial.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING POST-AUCTION PROCESS
This winner of this auction will collect the royalties directly from the distributor Parlophone Label Group, on a biannual basis. Please see the Post-Auction Process tab for further information.
