Bid to collect public performance royalties from a catalog featuring music from late hip-hop artist XXXTentacion.

Streaming is the foundation of this collection with 84% of royalties in the last 12 months. Spotify and Apple Music are the leading contributors, accounting for 68% of the catalog’s revenue last year.

The offering’s top track is “Dead Inside (Interlude)” performed by XXXTentacion, totaling 37% of last year’s royalties. Released in 2017, the song is off the Platinum-certified album titled 17. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in September 2017. Following XXXTentacion’s death, the album re-entered the chart at No. 7 on June 2018. To date, “Dead Inside” has nearly 81 million spins on Spotify.

Also off XXXTentacion’s 17 is “Save Me,” bringing in 28% of last year’s earnings. “Save Me” hit No. 12 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs and No. 94 on the Hot 100 and has 137 million spins on Spotify. The catalog also includes “777” from XXXTentacion’s mixtape Members Only, Vol. 3, as well as “Dapper Dan” from Ski Mask the Slump God.

Key Drivers

Hip-Hop/Streaming. This catalog is a perfect example of two trends: hip-hop and streaming's growth worldwide. According to BuzzAngle's 2018 Year-End Report, hip-hop is the most popular genre of music in the U.S. The driver for the increase is streaming. Hip-hop/rap tracks accounted for more than a quarter of all on-demand plays on music streaming services in the US in 2018. Streaming accounts for 84% of this catalog’s earnings over the last 12 months.

Gen-Z/Streaming. According to a recent study, Fluent uncovered millennials and Gen-Z are the primary users of, subscription services like Apple Music and Spotify. As the majority of XXXTentacion’s following falls within this age range, demand on streaming sources follows suit. In fact, XXXTentacion has often been regarded to have left behind "a huge musical footprint" due to his impact on his young fanbase and his popularity during his short career.
